Marin County School Volunteers' mission is to help children realize their potential in school with the assistance of community volunteer tutors.
The program offers opportunities for students to receive the help they need to become academically successful, and community members the chance to engage in meaningful volunteer activities.
One Volunteer shares her story . . .
"I wanted to let you know what a wonderful experience I had as a volunteer with the Hamilton Elementary School in Novato. I went into this assignment from Dominican University in October as a part of a field placement in Psychology. In all my 42 years as a salaried worker I never had as rich an experience as I did being a volunteer. I think I gained as much, if not more, than I gave.
The children, teachers and staff were all wonderful. I am returning to school full-time to finish my thesis work, but I would be honored to do some more volunteering in the future.
Thank you for providing this service to the community. It is such a worthy cause."
