Program Managers oversee the recruitment, screening, training and placement of volunteer tutors. They act as liaisons to our multiple school sites and collaborate with our onsite coordinators to ensure appropriate volunteer placement. All staff also participates in screening and training for our dedicated volunteers.

Pam oversees Program Managers and general program operations , collaborates with community partners and schools and does outreach, grant writing and fundraising.
Melissa Marvan
Database Manager

Melissa oversees data collection and all database management. She also serves as a tutor, teaches math workshops for our volunteers and has a private business tutoring math to high school students.
Mariana is Program Manager for most of the San Rafael City Schools (K-5). As Program Manager, she oversees new volunteer intakes, orientations, screening and placement of volunteers. Mariana also works with the school site Volunteer Coordinators to assess teacher requests, school needs and the status of current volunteers. Mariana is bilingual and bicultural; she provides our "Cultural Sensitivity' training for incoming volunteers.

Doug is Program Manager for public High Schools in Marin County. He oversees screening and placement of volunteers in high schools, with a particular focus on AVID classrooms, after school tutoring and special programs that support college access and academic success.

Ami Gerstein is Program Manager for Marin City/Sausalito Schools and Davidson Middle School in San Rafael. As Program Manager, she oversees new volunteer intakes, orientations, screening and placement of volunteers at these sites. Ami also works with the school site Volunteer Coordinators to assess teacher requests, school needs and the status of current volunteers. Ami is a Licensed School Psychologist and Special Education teacher.

Monica Golden is Program Manager and Volunteer Coordinator for Vallecito Elementary School, Venetia Valley K-8 School, and San Pedro Elementary School. As Program Manager, she over sees intakes, provides orientation, screens and places incoming volunteers at these sites. As Volunteer coordinator, she assesses teacher requests, determines the needs of the schools and volunteers, and oversees volunteer placements and satisfaction, ensuring a good fit for all.
